ABOUT THEÂ FOUNDER
September Secrist has more than 20 years of experience in leadership, strategy, organizational alignment, and team management. She spent most of her career with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration in various leadership positions, supporting and promoting global business expansion.
She left to volunteer her professional skills with international nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. She traveled for 14 months to 22 countries in SE Asia and Africa and working with 45 international, regional, and community groups.
Through this experience, she recognized the value of experiential leadership training and professional growth that comes out of learning and executing in challenging environments. She also saw a need for more professional skills in global charitable organizations. Leadership Synapse launched as a response, matching global leadership training opportunities with professional skills needs in international nonprofit work.

September has a Business Administration degree from Northwest University and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.

September is also an author and speaker, with unending stories of solo travel by public transportation in developing countries, and the amazing people she met along the way. Contact her to book her travel presentation on "Disruption, Discomfort, and Destiny: Just Take the First Step."
